Changes on McDonald’s Web Site, Where Did Bag a McMeal Go?

I often consult the nutrition info on McDonald’s Web site. I have it found it very complete in the past, even down to being able to take something apart ingredient by ingredient to find out what I can cut out (say the sauce) to save calories and/or salt.

So I was a bit worried recently when the bookmark I’d saved for the Bag A McMeal portion of the site didn’t work. It seems McDonald’s has redesigned it U.S. Web site. Bag a McMeal is still there though, I’ve embedded the new link here and will change our link listings as well.

What that portion of the site does is allow you to create the meal you would order and then see nutrition info in one window. I pretty much never try a new McDonald’s product without first going to this part of its site and seeing what the product will cost me in terms of calories, fat, salt, etc.

It normally is up-to-date which is why I was surprised last week when I saw it did not have info for the new Angus Snack Wrap. You can read what I calculated as the calorie count for that product (with two halves of an Angus burger combined onto one wrap) on our site.

If you find yourself eating at McDonald’s often — it is one of the closest food outlets to my new office, for example — get to know the Bag a McMeal portion of the Mickie D’s site, it can help you make the best choices in a less-than-ideal food environment.
