Important Facts About Your Brain (and Exercise Benefits)

I took a course in the brain last year and learned some fabulous facts. Your brain weighs 2 to 3 pounds, less than two percent of your body weight. I bet you would never guess how many calories this mass of curlicues in your head burns in 24 hours. You need around 2000 calories a day to maintain your body weight.

You can find the answer here:

    • Thanks for sharing, Daniel. That’s a lot of weight in a relatively short time. The sleep is an important element of good health. Good health is a one day at a time deal.

  12. I nice summary, and comprehensive, too! Beets have recently proven to be so useful, as well, and could take their place beside nuts and olives. Sounds like you are beating the odds, Tony. I hope you are surviving lockdowns OK. It is particularly tough on my friend who has been grappling with dementia 😦

    • It’s a one day at a time deal, Vinny. Am bummed right now because I have not been able to ride my bike in a week and it doesn’t look good for the near future. Have been climbing stairs for exercise as I don’t like the health club. Stay safe!

  13. I have come back to this post because I wanted to read it more carefully but there is simply too much information presented.

Can you break it down to more easily digestible parts? Because this is very important. For example, I do a lot of exercise and am vegan and have a good BMI. But I have been told that I need a supplement to relax the walls of the arteries carrying blood to the brain. I have started on ProCera and it seems to be making a difference. But is it my imagination or can it really help.
