National Homemade Soup Day – Today!

And now for something new and completely different. Monty Python

Actually, National Homemade Soup Day is new to me. I don’t know about you. I couldn’t find the origin of it. So, if you would like to enlighten me, feel free.

Writing this from Chicago where the outside temp is below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, it certainly seems an appropriate holiday for the date.

To celebrate the day, I wanted to offer six of recipes for homemade soups that I have written about before. In view of the fact that many canned soups on grocers’ shelves are loaded with sodium, making your own soup can be a healthy plan. Most of these are Mr. Lazy Cook creations, so you know they will not take a lot of time and effort to make. They also aren’t high in calories or sodium.
