Why You Shouldn’t Snack Mid-Morning

Watching your waistline? Then try to avoid that mid-morning snack, according to the December issue of the Journal of the American Dietetic Association.

The latest study showed that overweight or obese women that snacked between breakfast and lunch lost less weight than the ones who skipped it.

If you are one of those mid-morning snackers, check out what you are eating for breakfast. This is a clear example of the necessity of having a good adequate breakfast that gives you enough energy to get through the morning. if you fuel up properly with sufficient calories, you won’t feel that mid-morning sag in energy that has you hitting the high-calorie, low food value snacks.

Also, it is important to remember that in the battle of the bulge, you have two important weapons in your arsenal. The first is intelligent eating as mentioned above and the second is exercise.

Make sure you get that body moving somehow every day. Park farther from the office and walk an extra block. You take public transportation? Get off a stop earlier and walk an extra block. Work or live in a high rise building. Take the stairs for a couple of flights each day. You can add up calorie burn just as well as you can add up calories. Start working for yourself in these ways instead of against yourself. You can get control of your weight. You just have to decide to do it. Don’t forget weight control isn’t just about looking better. It is about getting healthy and living longer and better.
