Plate size has come in for discussion when it comes to ways people can lose weight. Some have said in the past that using smaller plates will mean you take less food and so will eat less.
It may not be that simple, however, according to a recent study. The recent study at Texas Christian University found no impact from using smaller plates on what the study test subjects ate.
“It is possible that plate size does not have an impact on energy intake because people eat until they are full regardless of what utensils they are using,” says a university official.
So you’re back to making sure you don’t eat more than your body can use and burn off in a given day, at least until the next study on plate size comes out.
